Trinity United Presbyterian Church is the first United Presbyterian Church in Southern California. It was organized by 18 Charter Members on June 22, 1876, in the home of James McFadden. The Reverend D. S. McHenry was the first pastor in 1878 and the first sanctuary was built on the northwest corner of 4th and Mortimer Streets in Santa Ana.
In 1906, the congregation moved to the property at Sixth and Bush Streets in Santa Ana. Then in 1958, our present location of 17th and Prospect was purchased for $6,400 per acre. A year later, the Reverend George A. Munzing began his pastorate at Trinity and in 1967 our inspiring sanctuary was completed. The Reverend George Munzing served Trinity for 37 ½ years until his retirement in April, 1997.
In November 2006, the Rev. Dr. Douglas J. Rumford was called to Trinity and is currently serving as our Senior Pastor. Trinity is a great place to get involved, whether you are wondering how to:
Explore life’s important questions
Connect with God and people who really care
Grow in your knowledge and practical abilities, or
Serve others with your gifts and talents
Our mission is to be a discipling community where Christ's power is transforming lives as we explore, connect, grow and serve on a life-long journey of faith.
We are seeing Christ's power change lives. We'd love to be a part of your journey of faith.
