Read
John 13:34-35

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Reflect

  • Jesus doesn’t simply encourage us to love one another; he commands us to do so. How does that change the way you read this passage?
  • What does it mean to love as Jesus loved?

Apply

  • Demonstrate Christlike love by reaching out to someone with a text, email, phone call, or note of encouragement.

Pray

Gracious God, we know that loving one another isn’t simply a preferred option; it’s a command. Help us to eliminate any bitterness, resentment, or envy that is getting in the way of allowing your love to flow through us. Amen.
