Thank you for volunteering at Trinity! We’re so grateful for your willingness to share your time, gifts, and talents in service to our church community.
As an intergenerational church, we cherish the opportunity to worship, grow, and serve alongside one another. The safety and security of our children, and every person on our campus, is one of our highest priorities. Every child and person deserves an environment where they are protected, valued, and able to thrive. Creating that environment requires intentional safeguards, accountability, and a shared commitment from everyone who serves at Trinity.
For this reason, all volunteers serving at Trinity are required to complete the following 6 steps…
Step 1
live scan
State & Federal live scan using the CalVEHS system.
CalVEHS stands for: California program that allows qualified organizations to access state and federal criminal history information for employees and volunteers serving children, the elderly, or individuals with disabilities.
This scan is done in the Compliance office, located in the Student & Family Building.
Step 2
PROTECT MY
MINISTRY
This is a county background check, for which you will receive an email from Protect My Ministry with instructions on how to complete the process.
Step 3
ANNUAL WAIVER
This waiver reminds all volunteers that through the CalVEHCS system, Trinity United Presbyterian Church will be notified if a volunteer is arrested.
Step 4
CA MANDATE PREVENTION OF CHILD ABUSE TRAINING
You’ll need to register, complete the general training, purchase the $10 certificate, and take the exam. Once you have completed all the steps, email your certificate to Diane for our records.
Step 5

Read and sign the document to acknowledge your understanding and agreement to follow its guidelines.
Step 6
CODE OF CONDUCT
All youth volunteers ages 14–17 who serve alongside or work with children are required to carefully read and sign the Youth Volunteer Code of Conduct.
